Carrie Underwood Calls Co-Producing New Album a 'Natural Evolution'

Readying her new album for the world to hear brought out a new skill in Carrie Underwood.The country megastar reveals in a trailer for hew sixth-studio album Cry Pretty that producing her first project made sense. I had been working with David Garcia on the writing side of things,โ€ Carrie explains of the songwriter who became her co-producer. โ€œWe just really hit it off. The first song that we wrote together is on the album, so it was kind of like, โ€˜I like this guy. [Letโ€™s] write with him again.โ€™โ€ Carrie previously called producing a โ€œchallenging and incredibly rewardingโ€ experience and adds in the trailer that her band made the process easier. โ€œThereโ€™s certain chemistry the comes together when thereโ€™s a band there and everybody feeds off of each other,โ€ she says. โ€œWe got a lot of guys that I had worked with before and some that I hadnโ€™t, and everybody brought it.โ€ Related: Carrie Underwood Gives Health Update: 'About 90% There'Carrie also revealed she decided to name the album after its first single because it โ€œsets the toneโ€ and features โ€œthemes that go throughout the rest of the album.โ€ Cry Pretty is due out September 14.
