19 Ways To Save On Wedding Costs

I'm going to be honest with you guys, we went as cheap as we possibly could for our wedding. We wanted the actual ceremony to be as fast and simple as possible, and most of our money went to the reception.

I found a dress on clearance at Kay's Kreations that I absolutely loved. It was the FIRST dress I tried on, and it was perfect! It was also very inexpensive, since it was on sale!

We went through friends to find someone who would give us a great deal on the wedding cake.

A sweet co-worker of mine made my hubby's groom cake (in the shape of a guitar)!

We made our own fruit dip, and bought fruit and other assorted goodies at Sam's Club for the reception.

My husband was friends with a local band and they gave us a fantastic deal on playing at our reception.

We had glow bracelets and necklaces for the kids at the reception, but it was us adults that ended up having all the fun with them! We were wearing them on the dance floor!

We found a place to rent for the reception that already had all the  tables & chairs, and the price was a steal! It was an older building, and nothing fancy, but it had a kitchen and separate rooms for the food, band, etc.

For our wedding table, we used candlesticks we found at Dollar Tree, a framed poem my hubby-to-be had written for me, and some rose petals.

One of my friends did the flowers for me and gave me a great deal!

The actual ceremony took less than 10 minutes, and a lot of the friends and family at our wedding reception said it was the most fun reception they had ever been to.

We did it all for about $3,000. Not too bad!
