Another day, another data breach. This time it happened to Capital One. Information from credit applications was exposed, along with some social security numbers and even linked bank accounts.
I'm glad I just recently set up alerts on my credit card any time a purchase is made. I also have alerts set up on my bank accounts for purchases, and am enrolled in Lifelock, so I receive alerts from them as well. I don't think you can have too many layers of protection!!
**ALSO - watch out for scammers taking advantage of this breach. Be mindful of phishing emails and scam phone calls!
